The Hobart Coffee Calendar - A Love Letter to Local Cafés
If you’ve followed my work for a while, you’ll know I have a bit of an obsession with two things: art and coffee. So really, this project was inevitable.
A few weeks ago, I shared a little idea on Instagram - a calendar featuring hand-painted portraits of some of Hobart’s most-loved cafés. I honestly thought a few people might think it was cute… but it went bonkers. Within hours, my DMs were full of café suggestions, love notes from fellow coffee drinkers, and people asking when they could order one.
So here we are — The Hobart Coffee Calendar is officially happening for 2026.
Why a Coffee Calendar?
Hobart’s café scene is such a big part of the city’s heart. These are the places where friendships start, ideas are born, and mornings begin. They’re where we celebrate, catch up, unwind, and caffeinate.
Through this project, I want to celebrate the small businesses that keep our community buzzing - literally and figuratively. Every café I paint has its own personality: from the quirky interiors to the local regulars who call it their second home.
Each month of the calendar will feature a different café - painted in my bright, bold, and iconic style.
It’s not just art for your wall. It’s a celebration of connection, caffeine, and community.
How It’s Coming Together
Right now, I’m spending my days visiting cafés around Hobart, sketching and photographing each one before heading back to my studio to paint. I’ll be sharing little glimpses of the process on Instagram - the messy, colourful, coffee-fuelled chaos - and behind-the-scenes stories through my email list.
